I work 5 hectares of old vineyards in the best Moulin à Vent terroirs. Tended under organic conversion, these vines – from which the grapes are hand-picked – give great quality grapes that I vinify in the traditional way and mature in tuns and barrels.
Château Portier, enclosed by its walls, with its shaded plane tree terraces and Burgundian turrets topped with varnished tiles, is a building that is characteristic of the Beaujolais region. Built just a few metres from the famous 15th century listed windmill that gave Cru Moulin à Vent its name, Château Portier is an ideal place to welcome groups and individuals. Denis Chastel Sauzet, the owner of Château Portier and the windmill (exclusively), will guide you through stone, history and the 5 senses with passion and will be delighted to give you a tasting of his wines.
An estate set in the heart of the vines with an unparalleled view over the Monts du Beaujolais.

This estate has spanned many generations. The château and its cellars date from the 17th century. It is in the heart of the vineyard where the poet Lamartine came for rest and relaxation.
The visitor gets to the estate up a driveway through the vines, arriving in a big interior courtyard that gives access to the different estate buildings. On the left is an imposing 14th century building and a succession of other buildings with our tasting area.
